“Yeah man Dem Man Dere is in the building”.
First and foremost we want to start this off by saying a huge thank you to all you supporters, long time and those just jumping on board, without you, none of what we have been able to achieve so far would have been possible, so again a big thank you.
It was a very eventful 2019 in a positive way of course, with a few notable changes on the team which has injected the DMD brand with rich ideas and visions to fulfill. We launched our first DMD Mic Lounge, which was hosted by Remel London. Mic Lounge was created to provide opportunities for various talents, rappers, singers, spoken word to step onto the stage to perform their art in front of an audience. By doing so allows networking, confidence building and the hope for those raw talents to continue their journey to go on to do great things.
We have also had a whole string of amazing guests on DMD Podcast, from various backgrounds, here are a few to mention :
Phoebe One – MOBO Award Winner, Songwriter, Presenter, Broadcaster, Dj, Producer
Pyrelli – Hip Hop Artist
Remel London – Television, Radio Presenter
Kirk Diamond – Reggae, Dancehall Artist
Charles Obaro – Assistant Director Top Boy
Frontline Therapist – Mental Health Therapist
Darran Griffiths – Comedian
J Kaz – Reggae, Dancehall Artist
Terror Danjah – Grime Artist and Producer
DJ Illness – Open Format Club/Festival & Mixtape DJ
Bianca Maria – Contestant, Take Me Out
Trillary Banks – Dancehall Artist
Akhiem Allen – Hip Hop Artist
World Boss – Comedian
Discussions on a wide range of topics were wild, full of banter, deep and thought provoking which allowed guests to get comfortable with the hosts before diving into their world of what’s going and what you as the listener should know and be aware of. As well as having guests on DMD Podcast, we also had the pleasure of inviting other well respected and known podcasts from the scene, ESN Podcast, Sista Lounge to join in and share their own experiences. DMD also had the pleasure of being invited to the BBC Studio in London, where we appeared on BBC Radio 1xtra’s Snoochie Shy Show, which was an amazing and memorable experience with plenty of bants and surprises that caught us off guard throughout the show.
DMD isn’t always just about banter, wild topics and debates, we show a caring side by touching on sensitive subjects and areas that deserve more awareness. Mental Health, Cancer Research, Lupus, Men and Women’s Health to name a few.
We have lots to look forward to, so watch this space!
Once again thank you for your continued support and as always ‘Onwards and Upwards‘
